My Teaching Philosophy
Whether teaching Intellectual Foundations at Carthage College in Wisconsin, or movement for professional actors in Chicago, my teaching philosophy stays constant. My goal is to best understand the needs and potential of each student and help them realize a kinder and more generous relationship with themselves and ultimately with those they encounter. With this guidance, they will leave the classroom with a better ability to empathize with and apply themselves to their community. |
Mind/Body Wellness
I'm so excited to be developing new workshops focusing on the mind/body relationship. This work is geared towards students who are seeking treatment post-trauma, dealing with depression, eating disorders, anxiety, and other conditions leading to mind/body disconnect. This work draws on my background in dance, yoga, and physical theatre. For more information, or if you or your organization has interest in hosting a workshop, click below. |

Physical Training for Actors
This work stems from P3/East, Suzuki, Slow Tempo, modern dance, and yoga. This work engages the actor to find clarity, precision, and focus in the whole self, (mind, body, and spirit,) in the context of performance. The actor will be asked to consider the very nature of what it means to be present through physical rigor and play. By finding freedom within physical forms set to music, this work challenges balance, breath, and strength while demanding deep focus and clarity of the imagination.
